About us
The German Federal Association for Occupational Safety and Health (Basi) brings together 75 German institutions dealing with occupational safety and health (e.g. state departments, German Länder authorities, social partners, statutory accident insurance, statutory health insurance, associations for occupational safety and health).
Basi organises the exchange of information and supports joint action of its members. In addition basi encourages
- public awareness for occupational safety and health
- occupational safety and health politics
- regional activities
- international exchange of experiences
- co-operation with other fields of action, such as safety at school, road safety, environmental protection.
Main Activities
A+A Safety, Security and Health at Work
Consisting of four parts - an international trade show, an international congress, a safety meeting point and the A+A-forum – A+A is the largest and most important event in occupational health and safety in Europe.
Basi is organiser of the International Congress A+A, the safety meeting point and the A+A-forum.
Initiative “New quality of Office work”
The initiative wants to promote and improve the quality of office work. It works as an “activating” platform” and invitation to a long-term co-operation of all those who are interested in office work design. Currently the initiative develops guidelines for good office work design.
Orgatec – International trade fair for Planning, Furnishing and Management of Business Worlds in Cologne
The Orgatec tradeshow at Cologne is one of world’s largest events in the field of office work design. In 2008 the headline of Orgatec was "Better Office Greater Success".
